🌟2025 New UI for Scribe & Template Editor
We’ve redesigned the Scribe and Template Editor pages to improve your experience with Mika. This guide will walk you through the highlights of new changes and how to navigate them.
💕 Why are we doing this?
We’re redesigning the Scribe and Template Editor pages to:
Simplifying your Mika AI Scribe workflow
Making it easier to read and editing your notes on all devices, especially mobile!
Making it easier to find and use Mika's powerful features - including some new ones that are coming your way!
Reducing clutter and refreshing the overall look and feel of the application
This update is all about making your experience cleaner and more intuitive — whether you're writing notes, working with templates, or using Mika to message your patients.
📸 Sneak Peek &🪄Major changes
1. Dynamic, floating toolbar

This new toolbar will be floating at the bottom of your note. Depending on what you're doing, the toolbar will dynamically show the available tools. Additionally, you can now preview styles (e.g., headings) when you're applying them to your note.
2. Better tab control

All template-related actions (Edit, Add as Default, Favorite, Delete) are now grouped under the tab’s dropdown menu — cleaner and easier to manage.
The “Add Template” feature now has its own dedicated page accessible from the Page Control.
After a session is complete, suggested templates will appear in the +Add template tab (instead of the “Do More With Mika” panel on the righthand side).
3. Do More With Mika

The Do More With Mika panel now focuses solely on enhancing your current note. Simply give Mika instructions, and it will regenerate your note in a new tab.
Want to save the instruction to the template and use it in all the future notes?
Click “Save template to library” after generating.
Or use “Edit template” from the note’s dropdown menu.
4. A more usable Template Editor

The new design of the template editor enhances the editing experience by giving you much more space for you to focus on and work with your template.
Suggestions appear in the left-hand Suggestions panel. Click any suggestion to add it to your template wherever your cursor is. Add instructions to customize the AI Suggestions (i.e, pink jellybeans) in your note.
All additional settings (e.g. title, tags, access preferences) are now clearly organized in the left-hand panel.
5. Responsive design for mobile and tablet devices

The new UI brings major improvements to the mobile and tablet experience. To streamline the interface and make it feel more like a native app, we’ve introduced an Edit Mode that activates when you begin editing a note. In this mode, a contextual toolbar appears at the top, helping you focus on your content.
When you're done editing, simply tap the "Done" button in the top-left corner to return to Preview Mode, where you can continue with other actions—like adding a template or switching notes.
Additionally, the updated mobile UI features a sticky call-to-action button at the bottom, keeping key actions like “Activate Mika” or “Do more with Mika” easily accessible at all times.
6. More Minor Enhancements You’ll Notice
You’ll also notice some smaller updates in the upcoming UI, including refreshed icons, updated copy, new colors, and layout adjustments. Get ready to explore all the changes in the next update!
🗓️ When Will This Happen?
The new UI is rolling out in July 2025.
You don’t need to take any action — all your existing notes and templates and settings will remain accessible in the redesigned Mika AI Scribe app.
