Hardware

Device

You can use Mika on your:

  • Mobile

  • Tablet

  • Laptop, or

  • Desktop

If your device was manufactured within the last 5 years, it should work just fine.

Microphone

Your microphone impacts the quality of the transcript produced and thus, the overall quality of the notes Mika AI Scribe is able to draft for you. A higher quality microphone should result in higher quality notes. If your mobile, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer was manufactured within the last 5 years, the built-in microphone on your device should be of high enough quality for Mika to draft high quality notes for you. However, if you’re working with an older device, one that doesn’t have a built-in microphone, or if you just want to try boosting the quality of your transcripts to see if you get better results, you can use an external microphone that plugs into your device. Here are a couple of recommendations for external microphones, both plug in via USB: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08NDB5NWP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B075HTKBNP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Software

Operating System

Your device should be running iOS (iPhone, iPad), macOS (Apple computers), Android (Android mobile phones and tablets), or Windows operating system (PC computers). For privacy and security reasons, your device should be running the most up-to-date version of the operating system; however, Mika should work well with any version released within the past 12 months.

Web Browser

Mika works with any modern web browser:

  • Google Chrome

  • Apple Safari

  • Mozilla Firefox

  • Microsoft Edge

Again, your device should be running the most up-to-date version of your web browser; however, Mika should work well with any version released within the past 12 months.

Network

Bandwidth

Mika AI Scribe requires very little bandwidth (i.e., a fraction of what's required to stream a show on Netflix). With that said, minimum bandwidth requirements are: ~1Mbps upload, and ~256kbps download.

Connectivity

Mika requires a continuous internet connection. The system is designed to handle intermittent network instability (e.g., ~30 seconds), but does not function offline for any significant period of time.

If Mika detects a longer disconnection, your session will automatically be paused and you'll see an error notification on your screen. You can resume the session as soon as connectivity is restored.
