Activate Mika AI Scribe

Watch this 2 minute video to learn how to create a Mika AI Scribe session, including activating Mika, pausing and resuming, and ending the session to get your draft note.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Navigate to https://app.mikatahealth.com and login to the Mika AI Scribe app - you should see the Appointments page, which displays your list of Mika AI Scribe sessions, or "appointments."

    1. If it's your first time using Mika, you might not have any appointments yet.

  2. Click the "Start a session" button in the middle of the Appointments page or click the “Quick start” button in the upper righthand corner.

    1. This will create a new appointment and take you to a new page where you can activate Mika.

  1. A pop-up will appear to help you activate Mika.

  2. To activate Mika, you will need to:

    1. Select your microphone

      1. If you have more than one microphone available, you can select your preferred microphone from a dropdown list

      2. You may see an additional pop-up notification from your browser asking for permission to enable Mika to use the microphone - please click "Allow"

    2. Select your spoken language

      1. Mika supports 20+ spoken languages, and if you don't see one you'd like, just let us know and we'll try to add it for you.

    3. Confirm that you have patient consent (if applicable)

      1. You won't be able to activate Mika if this box is unchecked

    4. Click the "Activate Mika" button

  1. The pop-up will close - you should now see the Mika appointment page.

  2. Mika will automatically begin listening to your conversation by streaming audio through the selected microphone.

  3. Start talking. You should see a waveform animation in the Mika Control Panel in the upper righthand corner of the page and Mika begin building a transcript of the conversation in real-time.

  4. Pause Mika at any point by click the Pause button and resume Mika by clicking the Play button in the Mika Control Panel.

    1. You can pause and resume Mika as many times as you like during a session.

    2. Sessions will automatically be transitioned to ended after 48 hours of being paused.

  5. When you're finished, stop Mika by clicking the red Stop button in the Mika Control Panel.

  1. Mika will begin drafting your note and add content to the coloured placeholders (we call them "jellybeans") in your note.

    1. Pink jellybeans are for Mika's AI-generated draft note content such subjective, objective, etc.

    2. Green placeholders are for data such as start time, end time, duration, etc.

    3. Grey jellybeans are for custom placeholders you can create and add to your notes through macros and customizations.

  2. Edit your note by clicking anywhere on the note to activate your editing tools and start typing.

    1. If you don't want to type, you can also perfect your note with Mika's "Enhance your note" feature.

  3. Once you're happy with your note, copy and paste it into your EMR or other system by clicking the "Copy" button in the upper righthand corner of the note.

Note: The suggestions may take a moment to generate.
