💰Billing Claims (Alberta)
The Billing Claim template is a new Scribe tool designed to help healthcare providers generate billing claims for insured services.
This is a Beta feature tailored to Alberta primary care billing codes (Health Service Codes (HSCs) and Diagnostic Codes (ICD-9)).
If you're outside of Alberta, you can still join the wait list or try out the template. Please be aware that billing codes may vary between provinces and the billing claim generated may not be suitable for your submission in your region.
Accessing the Billing Claim Template

Once the session ends, click the "Billing Claim" tab in the top right corner to begin.
Sign up with Provider Information

When opening the Billing Claim template for the first time you'll be asked to enter your provider details. This info will be used in all of the billing claims you generate.
If you need to update your billing details later, go to: ⚙️ Settings > Your Account > Billing Claims.
Billing Claim Content

The Billing Claim document consists of two main parts:
1. Billing Details
Health Service Code (HSC)
Diagnostic Code (ICD-9)
2. Appointment Information
Patient Details
Appointment Details
Provider Details
Editing the Codes
Mika AI generates suggested billing codes based on the appointment transcript.
If you need to make changes, click on the code (this will open a pop-up window where you can edit). Search for a different code (or modifier) and select it from the dropdown list.

Export, Print or Send to EMR
You can download the Billing Claim as a PDF, print it, or send it directly to your EMR. Click the dropdown arrow next to "Export PDF" to see all options.
