💰Billing Claims (Alberta)

The Billing Claim template is a new Scribe tool designed to help healthcare providers generate billing claims for insured services.

Accessing the Billing Claim Template

Once the session ends, click the "Billing Claim" tab in the top right corner to begin.

Sign up with Provider Information

When opening the Billing Claim template for the first time you'll be asked to enter your provider details. This info will be used in all of the billing claims you generate.

If you need to update your billing details later, go to: ⚙️ Settings > Your Account > Billing Claims.

Billing Claim Content

The Billing Claim document consists of two main parts:

1. Billing Details

  • Health Service Code (HSC)

  • Diagnostic Code (ICD-9)

2. Appointment Information

  • Patient Details

  • Appointment Details

  • Provider Details

Mika AI automatically fills this information using: Session content (i.e., the transcript), appointment data (or EMR data, if integrated), and your provider details.

Editing the Codes

  • Mika AI generates suggested billing codes based on the appointment transcript.

  • If you need to make changes, click on the code (this will open a pop-up window where you can edit). Search for a different code (or modifier) and select it from the dropdown list.

Export, Print or Send to EMR

You can download the Billing Claim as a PDF, print it, or send it directly to your EMR. Click the dropdown arrow next to "Export PDF" to see all options.

Remarks

  • Customization Not Supported

    • The Billing Claim uses a standardized format created by Mikata. Customization options are not available.

  • Redraft Not Supported

    • The Redraft feature is currently unavailable for this template.

    • Be sure to mention all information that you'd like to include before ending the session.

  • TELUS and Accuro EMRs

    • TELUS and Accuro EMRs do not support tables in their notes. When sent to EMR, tables in the note will break down into text (see example below):
